How to play Backgammon

Backgammon is one of the oldest board games in the world: two players race 15 checkers around a 24-point board using two dice. Move all your checkers into your home board, then bear them off. First to bear off all 15 wins.

• ♠Making your 5-point and 4-point early builds a wall that is hard for the opponent to escape.
• ♠Count pips: the lower total is ahead in the race. When you're ahead, avoid contact; when you're behind, keep blocking points.
