Free Solitaire — no download, no sign-up

Klondike is the Solitaire that shipped with Windows, and this version runs straight in your browser tab. There is nothing to install and no account to create: open the page, and a fresh deal is already waiting on the green.

What you are looking at

Seven tableau columns hold the deal, the stock and waste sit top-left, and the four foundations top-right. The goal is to build every foundation from Ace up to King in a single suit.

How cards move

In the columns you build down in alternating colours — a red six onto a black seven. Only a King can start an empty column. Drag a card or a whole ordered run, or double-click to send it to a foundation.

Turn 1 or turn 3

This page deals one card at a time from the stock, which is the friendlier version and wins far more often. If you want the tougher draw-three deal, the Turn 3 table uses the same board with a stricter stock.

Tips that actually help

  • Turn a face-down card whenever you can — a blocked column is what usually ends a game.
  • Do not rush low cards to the foundations; a two you send away can no longer hold a three in the columns.
  • Empty a column only when you have a King ready to fill it.
  • Use undo freely: it costs nothing here and teaches you which order actually works.

Common questions

Is this Solitaire really free?
Yes. Every game on the site is free to play, with no download, no payment and no account required.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The board scales to phone screens and cards respond to tapping as well as dragging.
Is every deal winnable?
No. Roughly eight in ten Klondike deals are solvable with perfect play, so a lost round is often the deal rather than you.
