Set-up
Each player has five cards in hand and fifteen in a draw pile. Two spare piles of six sit at the sides, and the game starts by flipping one card from each spare pile onto the centre.
Speed, also called Spit in some places, is a real-time race. There are no turns: both players play at once onto two centre piles, and the first to get rid of all their cards wins.

Play any card that is one higher or one lower than either centre card, regardless of suit. Aces wrap both ways: A goes on K or 2. Your hand refills to five from your draw pile automatically.
If neither player can play, a new card is flipped from each spare pile onto the centre. When the spare piles run out, the centre cards are shuffled back into them.
The first player to play every card from their hand and draw pile wins the race.
